JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Web.com , a leading provider of online marketing for small businesses, today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire privately-held Register.com, a leading provider of global domain name registration and complementary website design and management services.

JACKSONVILLE (Florida) - WEB.COM Group Inc, which does online marketing for small businesses, said Thursday it has agreed to acquire privately held Register.com for US$135 million (S$187 million). Web.com said it will pay US$20 million in cash, and finance the rest with proceeds from a new US$110 million term loan and a US$5 million seller note.
